Click on the following picture to download Darwin's Curse. I started working on this mini-game to test my ability with creating an artificially intelligent computer game opponent. I eventually created what I call Artificial Evolution. In most games, an enemy has one set of "physical" and "behavioral" characteristics and follows them. In Darwin's Curse, it randomly assigns the opponent with certain characteristics, and then checks to see if the design was successful. If it was successful, it keeps the design, if not, it goes back to the drawing board. This game requires an 800x600 display with 256 colors, and Windows 95. Joystick/gamepad is optional. It is approximately 2.5 MB in size. You must have a program that can "unzip" the file before playing.
